I have moved and received an invoice with IMD – why?
-
If you have received an invoice with IMD (Individual Measurement and Debit) after you moved, it may be because electricity consumption is billed with a four- or five-month delay on the invoices.
On your invoice, you can see which month the consumption period refers to. For example, an invoice dated June may cover electricity IMD for February. This means you may receive several IMD-related invoices even after you have vacated your apartment.
Who should pay?
For invoices with IMD charges, the person who was the registered holder of the apartment during the month the consumption relates to is responsible for payment.
For the regular monthly fee, the person who was registered on the apartment on the 1st of the month is responsible for payment. If the move-in and move-out occur in the middle of a month, the real estate agent can be contacted for a settlement.
If there are multiple invoices sent after you have moved out, you can disregard them, provided that they do not include charges such as IMD or other additional costs.
